With the opening of training camp coming up on September 18th, the Penguins yesterday signed three NHL veterans to professional tryout contracts, inviting defensemen Mark Pysyk and Libor Hajek to camp along with forward Austin Wagner.
Pysyk is a former Buffalo Sabres first round draft choice who has played eleven years in the NHL. He missed last year after tearing his Achilles tendon in training camp with the Red Wings. Hajek has played for Tampa Bay and the New York Rangers, spending the last five seasons in the Rangers organization. Wagner has played for the Kings and Blackhawks organizations, and spent most of last season in the AHL.
