INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Two people were picked up in separate incidents of public drunkenness over the last week in Indiana Borough.
The first incident was reported on August 26th at 4:34 AM in the 700 block of Maple Street. Borough Police were called out for a report of someone trying to get into a house. A man was found on the back porch of the house. Police identified him as 19-year-old Chase Rudy of Elliottsburg, and found that he was intoxicated to the point that he was a danger to himself and others. He was taken to Indiana County Jail where he was issued a non-traffic citation for public drunkenness and underage drinking.
The second incident was at 1:21 the next morning, when borough police were called out to the 900 block of Gompers Avenue to find 19-year-old Layne W. Walls of Oakdale urinating in public. He was also found in possession of a fake ID. He was taken to the hospital for medical clearance, then to Indiana County Jail on a temporary detainer.
Citations in both cases were filed through District Judge Guy Haberl’s office.
PSP-INDIANA
State police are investigating the theft of a fireplace from a home in White Township. Troopers say the theft happened between June 8th and August 29th at a home along Byron Place. The value of the gas fireplace is $750. No suspects have been named in the case yet.
A Clymer woman was cited for dog law violations in an incident in Green Township. State Police say that on August 24th, police were called out to Willow Street in Dixonville. A 39-year-old Clymer woman had three free-roaming dogs who went to the home of a 40-year-old Dixonville man and killed one of the man’s chickens.
