Indiana’s boys golf team is now 6-1 and 3-1 in their Section after a 191-202 win over Norwin yesterday at Indiana Country Club. Senior Philip Bell eagled number five and chipped in for birdie on eight to lead Indiana with an even par 36, tying Norwin’s Dom Cirilli for medalist. Hunter Martin was a shot back at 37. Trevor Todd and Harrison Martineau each shot 39 and Ryan Bell had a 40.
The Indiana girls won for the first time this season, topping Gateway 254-285. Izzy Slagle led Indiana with a 69, with Courtney Cass two shots back. Evangeline Pangonis shot a 64 and Peyton Scott a 70.
In a Heritage Conference match, Northern Cambria beat Homer-Center, 220-251. The Colts’ Brady Houser was the medalist with a 36 at Chestnut Ridge. Zach Cavallo shot 44, Zach Lockard and Brad Boring 46, Ethan Blickenderfer 48 and Luke Blickenderfer 49. It was the Wildcats’ lowest stroke total of the year. Brayden Rado led the way for Homer-Center with a season-low 43. Marcus Coy shot a 46, Ava King a 53, Max Voya a 54, and Noah Turk a 55.
In Heritage Conference volleyball, Apollo Ridge downed River Valley, 3-0.
