Even though Altoona had homers from Joe Perez and Matt Gorski, Altoona fell to the Akron Rubber Ducks 5-4 Friday night at PNG Field.
Jackson Glenn scored after Gorski hit a sac fly in the first inning, and Perez would have a solo homer in the first inning to give the curve an early 2-0 lead, but Akron would even the score in the fifth on a two-run homer off Anthony Solometo. Gorski’s homer came the next inning, a two-run shot, but Akron would tie it in the 8th and Connor Klox hit the game-winning homer in the 9th.
The Curve and the Rubber Ducks play again tonight. It’s the AA debut of Pirates #1 draft pick Paul Skenes. If you plan on attending tonight, hopefully you have a ticket, as the game is sold out.
