Kenny Pickett led two touchdown drives and the defense forced four turnovers, including a Joey Porter Jr. interception, as the Steelers beat Buffalo, 27-15, to win their second straight preseason game.
Pickett was supposed to play about 20 snaps, but the offense played so crisply he was in for only seven plays, one of them a 25-yard touchdown pass to Pat Freiermuth. Pickett was 3-for-4 passing for 43 yards. Jaylen Warren burst 62 yards for a touchdown and Connor Heyward caught a fourth-down three-yard touchdown pass from Mitch Trubisky with three seconds left in the first half to put Pittsburgh up 21-0 at halftime.
Chris Boswell kicked second half field goals of 35 and 39 yards for the Steelers’ other scores.
