River Valley’s boys golf team continued its hot streak to start the season on Wednesday, picking up wins over Northern Cambria and Armstrong to improve to 5-0.
The Panthers shot a collective mark of 211, led by Jeremy Reed who had a 35 on the day. Jake Pynos followed with a 37.
Brady Houser led Northern Cambria golfers with a 37. Ethan Blickenderfer shot a 44.
Homer-Center opened its season with a win over Ferndale at Berkley Hills in Johnstown. All five golfers combined for a 257.
They were led by Brayden Rado, who medaled with a 45. Marcus Coy finished with a 46, Noah Turk and Max Voyda each shot a 55, and Ava King ended with a 56. They face River Valley this afternoon.
Indiana also opened section play with a 193-207 win over Hempfield. Freshman Ryan Bell led the way, finishing 3-under par at 33. Senior Harrison Martineau shot an even par 36 while Caden Force followed with a 40.
Indiana hosts Kiski Area in a non-section matchup this afternoon at Indiana Country Club.
