For the first time since 2018, the Burrell Township offices and its public library have a place to call home.
After a water line burst and caused damage to the former building in February 2018, township Supervisors and library staff members were forced to share the conference room, which prohibited them from putting out all materials to the public. That all came to an end Friday morning, though, as a ribbon-cutting ceremony reigned in the new township building located at 120 Blaire Road, just beside the Black Lick Post Office.
Burrell Township Supervisor Dan Shacreaw said it was exciting to welcome residents into the new township building.
Shacreaw also said he hopes the opening of the new building paves a way for quote, “revitalization” in the township.
The project was funded through several state grants, and it was kickstarted by former Senator Don White and later backed by Senator Joe Pittman and State Representative Jim Struzzi.
