TRAINING CAMPS RAMP UP FOR IUP, HIGH SCHOOLS

COLLEGE FOOTBALL

With Pitt and Penn State having started their training camps last week, Paul Tortorella will open training camp at IUP today.  Eighty players are currently listed on the Crimson Hawks’ roster.  The season opens on Thursday, August 31^st at 7 PM at George P. Miller Stadium.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL

High School football gets underway today with the start of “heat acclimation week,” a PIAA-required five-day camp in which players are permitted to wear helmets and shoulder pads and participate in drills and conditioning.  Full practices will begin next week and the first and only scrimmages will be August 19^th, with the season starting on August 25^th.
