Charges have been filed against a woman who allegedly committed improper acts against a care-dependent person.
Indiana Borough Police say on July 10, they were informed by a disability service agency that one of their caretakers was reported to have committed quote, “acts against a care dependent person that were improper.”
Following an investigation, 35-year-old Dinah Campbell of Blairsville was charged with misdemeanor counts of striking, shoving, kicking, or attempting to threaten a care-dependent person; engaging in acts that serve no legitimate purpose; and recklessly endangering another person.
According to an affadavit of probable cause, Campbell allegedly swore at the alleged victim, who was described only as a man above 60 years old, fed them improperly which could have caused them to choke due to a medical condition they had, grabbed their arms roughly, and failed to help them as required between June 25 and July 2. Campbell denied the abuse allegations and declined to be formally interviewed by police, saying she wanted to speak with an attorney first.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 31 at 10 AM.
