The Pirates have reportedly traded 1B/DH Carlos Santana to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for infield prospect Jhonny Severino.
Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette first reported the move shortly after 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon. Santana hit .235 with 12 home runs and 53 RBI in 94 games.
The 18-year-old Severino has yet to break rookie ball after he was signed as an international free agent from the Dominican Republic in 2022. This season, he has four home runs in 12 games.
