No new deal has been reached after a two-day negotiation session between the State System of Higher Education and the union representing its coaches.
Negotiations have been going on for several months between the State System and APSCUF on the coaches’ contract, which expired on June 30th. During the recent two-day session, both sides discussed job security, evaluations and holidays.
Both sides are expected to meet again on August 28th for another negotiation session. Coaches will continue to work under the terms of the expired agreement until a new contract has been reached. Negotiators have not set a date for when contract talks are expected to wrap up.
Meanwhile, negotiations will continue later this month between the two sides for the teachers’ contract. The two-day session is slated to start July 26th. Their contract also expired on June 30th.
