A scout camp in Penn Run was vandalized earlier this month, and cleanup efforts are being planned for this weekend.
According to a post from the Friends of Camp Seph Mack, the camp was vandalized between July 5th and last Sunday morning. The affected buildings include the dining hall and Rinn Lodge. Reports say that multiple appliances were damaged, windows were broken and someone discharged a fire extinguisher inside the facility. No items were stolen from the buildings. State police are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, a camp work day will be held from 9-5 PM on Saturday, July 15th. While some tools will be available, people are encouraged to bring what they can to help out. Participants are asked to report to the maintenance building near the camp’s front entrance.
The camp recently hosted a three-day weekend camp for the Boy Scouts. The camp at Yellow Creek was established in 1934.
