Penguins President of Hockey Operations Kyle Dubas kicked off a jam-packed week by adding to his own staff, hiring Vukie Mpofu as the team’s Director of Hockey Operations and Legal Affairs.
Mpofu spent the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Kings as their manager of hockey operations and legal affairs. He assisted in player contract negotiations, managed salary cap and collective bargaining issues, and analytics. He also helped negotiate employment contracts with the Kings and their AFL affiliate, the Ontario Reign.
LA went 91-51-21 with Mpofu on the staff, and he also interned with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2020-21.
