While training camp is still several weeks away, the Steelers’ front office was hard at work on Monday.
The team is reportedly signing veteran linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski, who they worked out last week. He was a fourth-round pick out of West Virginia in 2016 and spent four seasons with the Bears. After that, Kwiatkoski spent two years with the Raiders and then last year with the Falcons. Over his career, he’s collected 293 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and seven sacks.
The Steelers are also reportedly signing former Miami Dolphins long snapper Rex Sunahara. The 6-6 center will compete with incumbent Christian Kuntz in training camp for a spot on the active roster. Sunahara spent the 2021 season on the Steelers’ practice squad.
Both signings have not been made official yet.
The Steelers might also be losing a veteran wide receiver as Anthony Miller hinted his departure from Pittsburgh in a tweet yesterday afternoon, saying “Thank you, Pittsburgh.” The veteran wideout played in three games last season, making six catches with 25 yards and a touchdown.

Should a NFL team sign wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, they could get a veteran running back as a bonus prize. Dalvin Cook, who was released by Minnesota last week, appeared on The Adam Schefter Podcast on Monday, saying quote “it would be epic for the NFL” if he and Hopkins signed with the same team prior to the 2023 season. He adds he and Hopkins have not spoke about the matter.
