Altoona opens a six-game homestand tonight against the Bowie Baysox. RHP Aaron Shortridge will start. He’s 3-4 with a 5.60 ERA. Bowie has not announced its starter yet.
The Curve saw their roster shaken up over the weekend. Right-handed pitchers Kyle Nicolas and Jared Jones were both promoted to Triple-A Indianapolis following strong starts to the season. Also promoted was reliever Travis McGregor, who posted a 4-0 record and a 2.04 ERA in 17 games this season.
They also welcomed 2021 second-round pick LHP Anthony Solometo to the team. He started in Saturday’s game against Somerset and allowed two earned runs and struck out seven in five innings.
