West Virginia men’s basketball coach Bob Huggins announced his resignation from his position Saturday morning after an incident this weekend in Pittsburgh. Police say they stopped the 69-year-old late Friday night after he was blocking traffic in the city, and that he registered a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit. This comes on the heels of Huggins using a slur when talking about Xavier’s men’s basketball program on a radio show in Cincinnati in April. For that incident, he was to be suspended three games.
Huggins said, “My recent actions do not represent the values of the University or the leadership in this role… I am solely responsible for my conduct and sincerely apologize to the university community.”
