The Pirates bullpen continues to be in a constant state of flux. Left-handed reliever Rob Zastryzny was placed on the 15-day injured list with left forearm inflammation. This marks the second time this season that he will be on the IL. He was 1-0 with a 5.29 ERA with 13 walks and 13 strikeouts in 17 innings over 18 appearances with the Pirates so far this season.
To replace him, the Pirates brought right-handed reliver Carmen Mlodzinski from Indianapolis. Mlodzinski is the Pirates number 20 prospect by Baseball America and number 23 by MLB Pipeline. He is 2-2 with a 3.16 ERA with one save, 31 strikeouts and 11 walks in 25 and 2/3rds innings in 19 appearances with Indianapolis this year.
