A ceremony was held in honor of Flag Day Wednesday afternoon in Oakland Cemetery.
Among speakers was Bob King of the Indiana Elks Lodge. He not only described the meaning of the Stars and Stripes, but he also reminded those in attendance of the meaning of another important flag.
Also during the ceremony was the dedication of the Garden of Honor, which honors first responders and veterans. It was originally scheduled to happen on Veterans’ Day, but it was postponed due to inclement weather.
