The rebuild of the Penguins’ front office continued on Wednesday as Jason Spezza was named Assistant General Manager.
Spezza spent last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs as the special assistant to the general manager, which was Kyle Dubas, the Penguins’ President of Hockey Operations. In that role, he helped in several operations departments, including player personnel, player development, minor league operations, and hockey research and development.
Spezza was also a two-time All Star during his playing career, which spanned from 2002 to 2022. He recorded 363 goals, 632 assists and 995 points in 1,248 games with the Ottawa Senators, Dallas Stars, and Toronto.
He will report directly to Dubas and assist in hockey operations.
