The PIAA has chosen First Commonwealth Bank Field again to play host to a state playoff baseball game.
The Homer City field will be the site of a 4A semifinal game (Western Final) between Bellefonte vs. Hopewell on Monday, game time 4:30 pm.
Bellefonte, the District 6 champion, defeated Indiana in the quarterfinals, 11-5, on Thursday. In another semifinal on Thursday, Hopewell, the District 7 champion, defeated Cathedral Prep by a score of 4-2 in a semifinal that was also played at First Commonwealth Bank Field.
The winner of Monday’s Western Final will meet the winner of the Eastern Final, Archbishop Wood (12-1) vs. Dallas (2-1). That game is also scheduled for Monday at Center Valley.
The semifinal winners go to Medlar Field at Penn State’s Lubrano Park for the 4A championship game on June 16.
