Faculty contract negotiations between the State System of Higher Education and APSCUF continued on Tuesday.
According to a joint news release, the two sides discussed the impact of leave on the timing of tenure, assistant department chairs, holidays and the recognition of extraordinary faculty service. A pair of two-day negotiation sessions have been scheduled for June 15th and 16th and for June 21st and 22nd. The current four-year contract expires on June 30th.
It’s expected that teachers will continue to work under the terms of the current contract should it expire while negotiations continue. In the statement, APSCUF President Dr. Kenneth Mash said they want to make sure that the agreement is fair to the faculty, and that these negotiations are taking a lot of time to complete.
In the past, APSCUF faculty have worked for over a year under expired contract terms.
Meanwhile, a two-day negotiation session is scheduled for APSCUF and PASSHE to discuss the coaches contracts on June 17th and 18th.
