For the first time since 2019, students from two Indiana County elementary schools had the opportunity to take part in “Bike to School Day,” hosted by the Indiana County Office of Planning and Development.
Students gathered in front of the KCAC and departed through campus shortly after 8 o’clock this morning. Josh Krug, Deputy Director for the Office of Planning and Development, was impressed with the turnout and credited several organizations with making the event a success.
Krug adds that more events are planned for tonight and down the road.
Assisting the Office of Planning and Development was the Indiana Regional Medical Center, who provided breakfast snacks shortly before the race began; the Indiana County Sheriff’s Department, who guided racers through town; Citizens’ Ambulance Service; White Township; Indiana County Commissioners; and IUP, Indiana Borough, and Pennsylvania State Police.
