The injury bug has bit the Pirates again, as Andrew McCutchen twisted his ankle during pre-game warmups, and after going through the tests, the team decided to scratch him from the lineup. No word if he will be back for tonight’s game against the Blue Jays.
The Pirates also placed starting pitcher Vince Velasquez on the 15-day injured list after he left Thursday’s 3-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays after the third inning with right elbow discomfort.
