In High School Baseball, Homer Center beat Glendale 11-3 on Friday. Michael Krejosic was excellent both ways as he pitched three innings and allowed 3 runs on two hits, notching five strikeouts, but allowing seven walks. On the offensive side, he was 3 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBI. Caleb Palmer had 2 RBI’s and Nash Budner was 3 for 3 with three RBI’s Homer will play next Tuesday at River Valley.
Meanwhile, Indiana’s JV team lost its second game of the season, an 8-4 loss to Bethel Park, to drop to 11-2. Indiana committed two costly errors that led to a five run fifth inning that the indians couldn’t overcome in a non-section loss to Bethel Park. Indiana outhit the Black Hawks eight to four, but couldn’t overcome the defensive woes and took the loss. Sully VanHoose led the way on offense going 3-3 with a double and two RBIs. Charlie Manzi added a triple and an RBI and Elijah Thomas had an RBI single. Mike Zimmerman took the loss on the mound despite only giving up four hits. Indiana plays at home on Monday night against North Catholic.
