The Altoona Curve fell to the Bowie Baysox, 9-3, in their first Education Day game of the season.
Starter Justin Meis earned the loss after giving up four runs to the Baysox, three coming in the first inning. Oliver Garcia surrendered three more in the seventh.
Catcher Dylan Shockley went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Matt Gorski added a double and Andres Alvarez had a hit and an RBI.
Both teams return to PNG Field tomorrow night at 6 p.m.
