Pitt basketball coach Jeff Capel has taken the first step in his annual offseason rebuilding program.
6-7 forward Zack Austin has announced his commitment to the Panthers, transferring from High Point University in North Carolina. He averaged 14.1 points per game this past season after averaging 14.4 in his freshman year. He shot 32.7 percent from beyond the three-point arc, knocking down 129 threes in his two years for High Point. He’s also a shot-blocker and good defender.
Capel will have three scholarships remaining after Austin signs.
