State police announced that a second firearm was recovered during an investigation into the chase last Saturday.
Troopers said the chase started around 9:25 PM along Wayne Avenue in White Township as a black Dodge Journey SUV was seen speeding. Police tried to pull him over, but he refused to yield to police and led them on a chase into the borough. After a PIT maneuver failed, the vehicle turned off Oakland Avenue and into Regency Plaza, where the car hit a curb and was disabled. The driver and an adult male passenger both left the car and ran off. The passenger was eventually caught, but the driver was not. Two adult women and a juvenile male who remained in the car were also apprehended.
Police initially announced that a .227 rifle was found in the car. They now say that a handgun was found near where the male passenger was apprehended, and it’s believed that suspect threw the gun away during the foot pursuit.
The passenger who fled, along with the three others in the car, were apprehended and later released. The driver remains at large.

The driver was described as a black male and was seen wearing a white T-shirt, torn blue jeans. He was picked up by a dark-colored sedan, believed to be a Honda Accord. That car left Regency Plaza by turning right onto North Avenue.
