IUP football coach Paul Tortorella will get his players back on the field for spring practice again this week. Jack Benedict caught up with the coach this weekend.
Tortorella says this team is much different than last year’s, with a lot of young players.
Tortorella says his defense will lead the way during spring practice.
The coach says the practices will be valuable for his young quarterbacks.
Tortorella does not routinely scan the transfer portal looking for players, as some schools do, but he will keep an eye open for possible additions at certain positions, such as quarterback.
IUP is permitted fifteen practices in the spring, but Tortorella says he will not practice every day, so it won’t be a five-day-a week, three-week camp.
