The Pirates have only two more games left in Florida as spring training wraps up and the team prepares to play the Reds in the season opener on Thursday. They’ll play the Twins in Fort Myers today and the Twins again tomorrow in Bradenton before heading to Cincinnati for a workout on Wednesday.
Yesterday, the Bucs’ pitchers were roughed up by the Braves. Greg Brown has the story.

Infielder/outfielder Connor Joe was hit on the hand by a pitch yesterday and had to leave the game. He is listed as day-to-day and may be headed for the injured list to start the season.
Over the weekend the Pirates made some tough roster decisions, including optioning outfielder Travis Swaggerty to Indianapolis. He’s been one of their best performers in spring training. Also sent down were infielder Tucupita Marcano, outfielder Miguel Andujar, and pitcher Angel Perdomo.
