The Homer-Center and River Valley girls basketball teams will both depart for Hershey today, as they prepare for tomorrow’s state championship games. Homer-Center will hold a rally and send-off this morning. The girls will depart the school for the journey to Hershey at 10 AM. River Valley is scheduled to leave at one o’clock after they hold a rally for their team.
Homer-Center plays Kennedy Catholic at noon tomorrow for the Girls Double-A state championship. We will be on the air on WCCS, 101.1 FM and AM 1160 beginning at 11 AM.
River Valley will challenge Dunmore for the Triple-A title at 6, with airtime on Cat Country 106.3 FM at 5 o’clock.
OPTIMIST TOURNAMENT
At the Indiana Optimist Tournament yesterday, West Shamokin downed Penns Manor, 55-27. Braydon Rodgers scored 18 for the Wolves while the Comets were led by Alex Talmadge with 15.
Indiana topped Marion Center, 67-36. Stanford Webb led Indiana with 15 points and Aaron Webb added 10. Cameron Pack had 12 for the Stingers.
Indiana will play West Shamokin in the semis on Friday. Tonight, Northern Cambria plays Homer-Center at 7, followed by Central Cambria against River Valley.
