WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC
The United States is set to take on Japan on tonight in Miami for the championship of the World Baseball Classic. Japan came from behind to knock off Mexico, 6-5 in the semifinals last night on a walk-off double in the bottom of the ninth inning. Masataka Yoshida hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game at 3. Shohei Ohtani had two hits and a scored a pair of runs. The United States is looking to defend its WBC title after claiming the last championship in 2017. Japan is aiming to claim its third title in the fifth-ever Classic.
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Merrill Kelley is expected to start for the U.S. Ohtani may get the call for Japan.
