The Penguins went into last night’s game off an embarrassing loss to Montreal on Tuesday, and things didn’t get any better at Madison Square Garden against the New York Rangers. Paul Steigerwald has the recap.
Coach Mike Sullivan says the Penguins didn’t bring their “A” game.
Defensemen Jeff Petry and Jan Rutta were both injured on Tuesday against the Canadiens but both suited up last night for the Pens. However, Petry took an elbow to the head in the first period and had to leave the game. The Penguins activated forward Ryan Poehling from long term injured reserve and he skated on the fourth line, logging just under nine minutes of ice time.
The Pens and Rangers skate again at Madison Square Garden tomorrow night.
