The White Township Supervisors received good news regarding the resurfacing of pickleball courts during their meeting Wednesday afternoon.
Township Manager Chris Anderson asked for the board to consider pushing the resurfacing project at Kennedy-King Park’s pickleball courts to this year after the Indiana Pickleball Club offered to donate $4,000 towards the total project cost, which shaped up to be approximately $9,282. The project was expected to start next summer, but Recreation Director Ryan Shaffer said this year would be better to start the project due to lots of wear and tear on the courts.
Shaffer said that if the donation comes through early enough, and with township approval, the project could start as soon as May. He adds that it could take anywhere from five to seven days.
In other business, Supervisors received two items for preliminary review. One was the commemorative street sign honoring the late Gilbert Zillner along Koulter Drive. Anderson said no date has been set yet for when the portion of the road will be dedicated, but it could be within the next month, weather permitting.

Supervisors also received the White Township flag that will be used in the PSATS Flag Parade.
