The PIAA has released its list of qualifiers for the state swimming and diving championship next week at Bucknell University.
Among the automatic qualifiers are Indiana’s Peyton Scott in the girls 100-meter breaststroke and Homer-Center’s Morgan Nagy in the girls 500 freestyle, and Indiana’s 200 freestyle relay team, which is seeded number one.
For the boys, Indiana’s Preston Kessler is an automatic qualifier in the 200 and the 100 freestyle, as is the Indiana boys 200 freestyle relay team.
Girls time qualifiers include Homer-Center’s Morgan Nagy and Indiana’s Sydney Anderson in the 200 free; Indiana’s Peyton Scott and Marion Center’s Nicole Scott in the 200 IM; Indiana’s Anderson again in the 100 free; Indiana’s Maddy Bauer in the 500 free; and Indiana’s 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams.
For the boys, Indiana’s 200 medley relay team is the second highest time qualifier and the 400 freestyle team also qualified. Indiana’s Alex Bauer is the top time qualifier in both the 200 IM and the 100 breast stroke; Indiana’s Joey Margita qualified in the 50 free and he and teammate Rey Nunez each qualified in the 100 butterfly; Nunez and Eli Aiken of Indiana qualified in the 500 free.
