The Pirates put on another poor showing Thursday afternoon in a split squad doubleheader, falling to the New York Yankees, 9-1, and tying the Toronto Blue Jays, 2-2.

Meanwhile, in Bradenton, the Pirates were held hitless until Drew Maggi hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth. Mitch Keller gave up three earned runs in two innings, while Rule 5 pick Jose Hernandez tossed another scoreless frame this spring.
The Bucs will send veteran Vince Velazquez to the mound tomorrow night as they take on Baltimore.
