One local fire department recently received new equipment to help with underwater rescues and diving missions.
In a Facebook post, officials with the Blairsville Volunteer Fire Department announced the addition of a new tandem boat trailer to the fleet Tuesday night. Loadmaster Trailers, a boat designing company in Tampa, FL., partnered with a committee associated with the fire department to design and build the boat trailer. It’s specifically made to fit the department’s Inmar and Zodiac rescue boats, while meeting heigh and length restrictions to fit inside its headquarters.
The trailer allows for faster and safer boat deployment into area waters and can be backed into a body of water like a conventional boat trailer.
Community residents are encouraged to stop by and view the new boat trailer from 4-7 p.m. this Friday.
