On his first day of Spring Training with his full squad in camp, Pirates manager Derek Shelton welcomed new faces young and old to camp. The young included fresh-faced 18-year-old infielder Termarr Johnson, last year’s number one draft choice. The old were represented by 42-year-old left-handed pitcher Rich Hill, who was already in the big leagues when Johnson was born.
Shelton was excited to see his newly-formed team for the first time.
The Bucs’ skipper was thrilled to see Andrew McCutchen in a Pirates uniform again.
Shelton is impressed by what he’s seen so far of Johnson.
The Pirate’s first exhibition game is Saturday at LECOM Park against Toronto. The first radio game on WCCS is Monday against the Phillies.
