While Spring Training continues for the Pirates in Bradenton, the Pirates did win their arbitration hearing with 1st baseman Ji-Man Choi. This means the Bucs will pay him $4.65 million for the season instead of the $5.4 million he requested.
Choi was acquired from the Bucs in the offseason from the Tampa Bay Rays and had 61 homers along with 225 RBIs in seven years in the majors. Last year, in 113 games, he had 11 homers and 52 RBIs.
