The pollsters might not have noticed, but the Pitt Panthers are surging through the ACC, winning on Saturday over Florida State to avenge a January 21st loss to the Seminoles and stubbornly clinging to their share of first place in the ACC.
Pitt was cold from beyond the three-point arc, hitting just 10 of 31, but their inside game and a big lift off the bench by Nuke Sibande helped them to an 83-75 win.
Jamarius Burton and Blake Hinson led Pitt with 19 points each, with Greg Elliott adding 13, and Sibande 12.
Pitt is 18-7, 11-3 in the ACC, but still not ranked in the Top 25. They are tied with Virginia at the top of the conference, but they beat Virginia earlier in the season, so the Panthers have the tiebreaker advantage. They will play Boston College at The Pete on Tuesday.
