Heritage Conference Championship Night at the KCAC, Presented by First Commonwealth Bank, will feature two teams looking to defend their conference titles against two powerful challengers to the throne. The defending champion United Lions and Portage Mustangs last night won their boys semifinal games. They’ll join two-time defending girls champion Homer-Center and River Valley at the KCAC for the showcase event.
At United last night, the Lions were unstoppable against Cambria Heights. Todd Marino has the story.
At Portage, the Mustangs took down River Valley. Here’s Jake Slebodnick.
Mustangs coach Travis Kargo says United is a big challenge.
River Valley coach Don Stitt Jr. says his team will value the experience of playing in a high stakes game.
United lost the Heritage Conference championship game two years ago in a game played at West Shamokin because of covid-19. Last year the championship night returned to the KCAC and the Lions avenged their loss to the Wolves.
Portage is currently ranked first in District 6 Class A. United is first in Double-A.
