BOYS BASKETBALL
River Valley tripped up Homer-Center, 60-43 last night in a Heritage Conference matchup. Dom Speal led the Panthers with 17 points and Jayden Whitfield added 16. Luke Woodring added 10. Michael Krejocic scored 19 for Homer-Center, including 13 in the fourth quarter.
All six of United’s seniors scored last night as the Lions topped West Shamokin, 69-42. Brad Felix led the way with 24 points. Tyler Robertson and Dylan Dishong each had 14, and Joe Marino had 11. Brayden Rodgers led the Wolves with 17.
Portage outlasted Penns Manor, 65-54. Mason Kargo led the Mustangs with 13 points, including career point number 1,000.
Northern Cambria beat Cambrie Heights, 45-35.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Marion Center beat Harmony, 55-10, in a non-conference game. Mya Lipsie led the Stingers with 10 points.
HOCKEY
Indiana tops Greensburg Salem, 4-1, with Colton Rayko scoring two goals. Landin Wilson erased a 1-0 Golden Lions lead with a power play goal in the first, then Adam Ball scored at even strength in the second period before Rayko’s two goals in the third. Luke Rower had a busy night in goal, making 28 saves.
SWIMMING
In a key Section swim meet at the IUP Memorial Field House pool, Indiana topped Kiski Area, 101-82, for the boys and 102-83 for the girls. Notable winners for Indiana included , including Alex Bauer and Peyton Scott in the 100 breaststroke, Preston Kessler and Sydney Anderson in the 200 freestyle, Preston Kessler and Peyton Scott in the 100 butterfly, and Alex Bauer in the 200 IM. Both the boys and girls relay teams won the 200 freestyle relay, and freshman Austin Schawl won the boys diving with a new school record score of 261.75.
RIFLE
Indiana’s rifle team beat Plum for the second time this season, 778-45x to 772-33x. Top shooter for Indiana was Ethan Coleman with a 99-7x.
