The Pirates yesterday introduced South Korean pitcher Jun-Seok Shim, the 6-4, 218 pound right-handed pitcher with the 100 mile per hour fastball who is rated the 10th-best international baseball prospect by MLB Pipeline.
Shim signed his contract Wednesday and toured PNC Park, walking out onto the field and onto the pitchers’ mound. Speaking through an interpreter, Shim said he is looking forward to being a Pirate.
One bit of English Shim does know already: “Let’s Go Bucs”!
