GIRLS BASKETBALL
Homer-Center took the lead in the first quarter and never gave it back, beating a very good Berlin team, 60-49. Macy Sardone led the Wildcats with 24 points and Alaina Fabin added 14. Molly Kosmack scored her 1,000th career point and finished with 13 on the night. She is also closing in on a rare double-double as she nears 1,000 career rebounds. Berlin’s Gracyn Sechler also scored her 1,000th career point in the game. The rugged game featured 62 foul shots. Homer-Center shot 24-35 from the free throw line.
River Valley’s girls stopped Portage, 69-43, behind a career night from Hannah Artley. She scored 23 points and had 15 rebounds. Ava Persichetti added 16 points and 10 assists. Ali Wozniak had 13 for the Mustangs.
The Indiana High girls ran into a formidable South Fayette squad last night. Jake Slebodnick has the report.

BOYS BASKETBALL
In the first game of a boy/girl doubleheader, Berlin Brothersvalley topped Homer-Center, 67-39. Craig Jarvis scored 27 points, including seven three-pointers for the Mountaineers. Michael Krejocic scored 20 for the Wildcats.
United won a thriller over Conemaugh Township, 56-54. The Lions tied the game on an Isaac Worthington three-pointer with 52.9 seconds left, then Dylan Dishong deflected a pass that Joe Marino dove for, grabbing the ball and passing from the floor to Brad Felix, who fed Dishong for the game-winning layup with 10.6 second left. The Indians then missed a three-pointer at the buzzer. Worthington led United with 18 points. Felix had 16 and Marino 14 for the Lions. Dishong’s game-winner was his only score of the game.
Portage played out-of-conference and beat Forest Hills, 67-65 behind 19 points by Andrew Miko.
