On Thursday, the Homer-Center School Board heard from some teachers concerning achievement among students in the district.
The district’s Data and PIIC teams held a presentation on the recent statistics from the state that showed the pace of growth in the district. Anthony Buffone of the Data team said that Homer-Center’s rate of growth was impressive.
Buffone said that those statistics make him as a teacher and his fellow teachers very proud.
In other business, the board passed the Act one resolution, which means that the board will not increase taxes beyond the state-mandated limit, which for Homer-Center is 6%. If taxes were increased to the maximum, it would be an average increase of $99 for the average taxpayer in the district.
