GIRLS BASKETBALL
The River Valley girls continue to rampage through the Heritage Conference, last night taking down Penns Manor to elevate to 8-0 in the Heritage Conference. Jake Slebodnick has the story.

The United girls wiped out Portage, 48-29. Mollee Fry led the Lions with 16 points and Maddy McGinnis added 12 as the Lions outscored the Mustangs by 21 points in the second and third quarters.
Marion Center keeps rolling, with a 67-42 win over Cambria Heights. Four Stingers finished in double figures, led by Lydia Miller with 21 points. Mya Lipsie scored 13, Kaelee Elkin 12 and Kenadee Elkin 11.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Indiana ran into a beehive last night at Freeport, where the Yellow Jackets prevailed, 80-42. Gavin Homer led Indiana with 11 points.
River Valley’s boys lost to Forest Hills, 68-61. Four Rangers were in double figures, led by Jeremy Burda with 17. River Valley also had four in double figures. Luke Woodring scored 17, Cole Kennedy-Citeroni 15, Jayden Whitfield 12, and Brad McDivitt 11.
There’s a big Heritage Conference battle tonight at United, where the host Lions put their undefeated conference record on the line against Portage, which is also unbeaten. Both teams are 8-0 in conference play, with United leading the West and Portage the East.
RIFLE
Indiana rifle lost to Hempfield by a score of 798-51x to 759-20x. Top shooter for Indiana was Nathan Teacher with a 100-6x.
HOCKEY
The 16U Indiana Chiefs won the AA 16/15U MLK Classic in Pittsburgh this past weekend by going 4-0-1. They reached the championship game by winning an overtime thriller 2-1 against the Hampton Warriors. The Chiefs then went on to the beat the Montgomery Ice Devils 4-2 after tying Montgomery the night before.
The Chiefs are now 22-5-2 on the season. Next game is January Saturday at 12:20 PM at the S&T Bank Arena.
