An investigation has started into possible embezzlement in an organization connected with the United School District.
Acting Superintendent Dr. Charles Koren told your Hometown Radio Station that authorities currently have information to explore a rumor that someone has embezzled money from the Marching Band boosters. Since the rumor has started, all fundraising operations have shut down and authorities have been called in to investigate. Koren added that this has not affected the district in any way.
He also said that this had nothing to do with the resignation of Superintendent Theresa Young, which is on the agenda for tonight’s meeting. Young is resigning after six months of being the superintendent.
The board meeting wills start at 7:30 tonight in the district’s boardroom.
