Pitt’s impressive start to the ACC season finally hit a stumbling block yesterday when Clemson rallied to beat the Panthers, 75-74. it was Pitt’s first ACC loss of the season and it also stopped their five-game winning streak.
The Panthers fell behind by 10 points in the first half but held an 8-point lead with 5:21 left before the Tigers’ rally. Chase Hunter hit the game-winning shot for Clemson with 45.8 seconds left.
Pitt was led by Jamariua Burton, who scored 28 points. Burton had 14 points in each half. Blake Hinson scored 14 points and Greg Elliott 11.
Pitt (11-5, 4-1) returns to ACC action on Wednesday night at Duke.
