The IUP basketball teams split their doubleheader against Mercyhurst on Saturday at the KCAC.
The women fell, 79-71, marking their first loss of the season. The men, on the other hand, kept their winning streak alive after downing the Lakers, 80-67.

Coach Joe Lombardi was impressed with his team’s overall performance against the Lakers, but he was especially pleased with his team’s ball movement and defense around the perimeter.
Meanwhile, women’s coach Craig Carey said his team did not hold Mercyhurst’s shooters in check.
Both teams head to Erie this Wednesday to face Gannon. Airtime on U92.5 FM and the U92 Sportschannel is 5:15 p.m.
