The Pittsburgh Penguins had another disappointing loss last night against the New Jersey Devils, dropping their fourth game in a row 4-2.
The Penguins started the scoring with a goal by at Evgeni Malkin in the first period as he scored unassisted on a breakaway at the 14:26 mark. In the second period, Jack Hughes would tie it up on a power play goal for the devils. Jeff Carter would score the second goal of the game for the pens to take a 2-1 lead at the 12:30 mark. Doogie Hamilton and Nico Hischier would give the New Jersey devils a 3-2 lead, with Hischier’s goal being a shorthanded tally. Hughes would score his second of the game into an empty net with about 5 seconds to go in the game.
The Penguins’ next game will be the NHL Winter Classic against the Boston Bruins. That game will be played Monday afternoon at Fenway Park. We will have the game for you starting at 1:00 with the pregame show on U-92.5 FM and the U92.5 sports channel.
