The Pirates signed another pitcher yesterday, inking left-hander reliever Jarlin “The Elephant” Garcia. He’s 17-15 in his six-year MLB career with a 3.61 ERA playing for the Marlins and Giants. Last season in 58 games he was 1-4 with a 3.74 ERA and one save for San Francisco.
To make room for Garcia on the 40-man roster, right-handed starter Bryse Wilson was designated for assignment. Wilson was 3-9 with a 5.52 ERA last season and was 4-13 overall with a 5.37 ERA after being acquired by the Bucs from the Braves at the trade deadline in ’21.
